  • Nidan (2nd Dan)

Laoise began her karate training at the age of five and earned her 1st dan black belt by the age of 11 — a reflection of her focus, discipline, and natural talent. She achieved her 2nd dan at 18, continuing to grow both as a martial artist and as a teacher.

From the foundation of Ealaín Karate Dojo, Laoise has been closely involved, initially assisting classes alongside her brother. She later spent a year as a teaching apprentice under Keelan’s mentorship, developing her own instructional style before going on to lead her own classes.

Laoise has competed successfully at both national and international levels, earning medals in both kata and kumite. In May 2024, she won a silver medal in the Senior Female Kumite category at the HDKI National Championships. One year later, in May 2025, she returned to the same event and claimed gold — becoming the HDKI National Female Kumite Champion.

In addition to her work in Sligo, Laoise has taught and trained at the HDKI Hombu Dojo in Dublin, where she was invited to lead classes — an experience that further strengthened her skills and broadened her teaching perspective.

Laoise brings a dynamic and energetic presence to every class she teaches. Her enthusiasm is matched by a thoughtful, technical approach, and despite her young age, she has already built up a wealth of experience as an instructor.

She currently teaches on Saturdays at both the Mullinabreena and Moylough dojos, where she is known for her positive energy, clear instruction, and ability to connect with students of all ages.
