Leona Cassidy

The rising star of Ealaín Karate Dojo!

Leona began training at Ealaín Karate Dojo with Keelan at the age of eight and has shown exceptional dedication and growth throughout her karate journey. Her commitment, positive attitude and steady progress have made her a standout student and an inspiring role model for younger members of the dojo.

In September 2024, Leona successfully passed her Shodan (1st Dan black belt) grading under Scott Langley (7th Dan) at the HDKI World Championships. In 2026, she travelled to Japan with the Ealaín Karate Dojo instructor team, where she achieved her Nidan (2nd Dan black belt), marking another significant milestone in her development as a karateka.

Alongside her own training, Leona has spent several years developing her skills as an instructor, assisting under the guidance of Keelan, Laoise and Aaron. Through this experience, she has gained valuable insight into teaching students of different ages and abilities and is steadily developing into an excellent instructor in her own right.

Leona brings a calm, focused and encouraging presence to the dojo. Her growing technical understanding, patience and ability to support younger students make her a valuable member of the Ealaín teaching team.

As both a dedicated karateka and an emerging instructor, Leona continues to develop her skills and confidence, establishing herself as an important part of the future of Ealaín Karate Dojo.
